ReplyDeleteA Walk Down The Lane... is the tale of modern love; it is the story of Shuvika(28), and Neel (40).
ReplyDeleteShuvika is a banker who goes for a much awaited vacation, amidst nature... after discovering some strange facts about love and life! There was something from her past that kept her alarmed... and she enjoyed solitude( rather forced to).
Neel, is a businessman, and an artist at heart, is an innocent divorcee, who has embraced solitude for his good reasons...
Both of them took an off from the busy schedule of their work life, just to spend some time with themselves...but could they be left alone...did a twelve years old acquaintance finally result in love when the two met...while everyone around knew that they were perfect match... what kept the two detached? The memories from their past... or the people who stepped in and out of their lives?
Will the promises for the future overcome the blues of solitude; will this turn out to be a rejuvenating jungle trip, for Neel... Will the age difference of 12 years...Or the ambitions of Shuvika to excel in professional world cause a rift in their relationship?
Well you need to read the book to know that.
As is evident by the storyline, this book is a contemporary love story and a modern take on it. It is a fast paced book, which grips you from the word Go. The characters are all well etched and contemporary.
The part of the book where the two meet again, turns out to be vital. I liked the book for its pace and the light manner in which it has been written. But there were things with seems from the fairytale love which one can hardly relate to present world.
But hey, who am I to question the author’s perspective because at the end of the day it is his story and he has all the right to keep it the way he wants. And all is well if the story is well told and entertaining! And for sure Arpita has that potential in her writing.
Kudos for that! All in all a good read.
